Final Evaluation

For this project I had to prepare album covers for thee different decades, 60s, 70s and 80s.
I didn't enjoy this project as much as the previous ones, mainly because I didn't learn anything new and I didn't have a chance to explore anything exciting or useful.

I was trying to do the best I could to make the final photos look good and neat even though I didn't have a chance to take many photos because I had problems with my camera. If I had an opportunity to do this project again and if nothing was standing in the way of me completing it, I would.
We didn't have that much time to finish this project so in the end , I didn't produce exactly what I wanted.

I enjoyed making album covers, adding fonts and editing my final images. I think it was quite interesting.

Final album covers

This is one of my final album covers. I decided to use this photo because I like the contrast in it. I like the blue sky at the bottom and the way it makes its way to the inside of the building. I used a yellow filter to make the photo look a little bit older.

This is another one of my covers. I used a photo of an old wall because the name of the album contains a word 'destruction'. Because I used a normal, typical font I decided to use a 3D effect so the writing doesn't look boring.

For the last one of my covers I decided to experiment a bit, using different filters and effects. I made it look more interesting by adding a purple filter and different font. I decided to use a Starbucks cup with cream in it in the first place because the name of the album is 'fresh cream'.

Typography

1960s
Davidawas one of the most popular fonts used in 1960s. It looks quite interesting and feminine but it's not delicate or subtle.

1970s

Abbey Scroll
VO6 Black Sabbath front.jpg was a popular font used in the 70s. It reminds us of old, ancient fonts and it looks quite mysterious.

1980s

Mistral

was a popular font used in 1980s. It looks a little bit messy and a little bit like handwriting.

Appetite for Destruction

Appetite for destruction

Guns N' Roses

Appetite for Destruction is the debut studio album by American hard rock band Guns N' Roses. I think this album has the best heavy metal sound of any album before and since its release.
For a while, "Appetite for Destruction" was also the biggest selling debut record in history. I am not sure if it still is, but it was at one point. In terms of sheer attitude and intensity, I don't think anything else in rock and roll can really match it's excessive vibe.

Made in Heaven

QUEEN

Made In Heaven

Made in Heaven is the fifteenth and final studio album by British rock band Queen. Until the release of Queen Forever in 2014, it was the final album containing original material featuring the band's original line up.

Fresh Cream

CREAM

Fresh Cream

Fresh Cream represents so many different firsts, it's difficult to keep count. Cream, of course, was the first supergroup, but their first album not only gave birth to the power trio, it also was instrumental in the birth of heavy metal and the birth of jam rock. That's a lot of weight for one record and, like a lot of pioneering records, Fresh Cream doesn't seem quite as mighty as what would come later.. In retrospect, the moments on the LP that are a bit unformed -- in particular, the halting waltz of "Dreaming" never achieves the sweet ethereal atmosphere it aspires to -- stand out more than the innovations, which have been so thoroughly assimilated into the vocabulary of rock & roll, but Fresh Cream was a remarkable shift forward in rock upon its 1966 release and it remains quite potent. Certainly at this early stage the trio was still grounded heavily in blues,

LP Record Covers

1960s

Elvis Presley

Movies and soundtracks ruined Elvis' musical career for the large part of the 60s, but after his 68 Comeback Special, Presley got serious and he made a ton of great music to close out the decade.

Best songs: In the Ghetto; Little Less Conversation; Suspicious Minds

The Rolling Stones

I like the Stones a lot. They didn't get caught up in hippie crap. They were just pure rock n' roll, they stayed true to the music.

Best songs: Paint It Black; Satisfaction; You Can't Always Get What You Want

Cream

I think Cream was Eric Clapton's best band. And his guitar playing automatically puts this band on the map.

Best songs: Crossroads; I Feel Free; Sunshine of Your Love

1970s
ABBA
ABBA is without a doubt the best music group ever, with a sound that is completely unique. I have not yet come across a song by them that is not in its own way enjoyable.
Queen
As a band, their voices blended with such ease and perfection that you can't help but be mesmerized. Easily the greatest band ever, not just of the 70's.
Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd put out their best work during the 1970s. it has the strongest, most down to earth, brilliant and honest lyrics I have ever heard.
1980s
Guns N' Roses
an American hard rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1985. The classic lineup consisted of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler.
U2
Some albums that are produced, you like one song here and there. U2 reminds me of Journey. Every song on the album is great... So there is no skipping, you just let it play on through from start to finish..
