George Lance
1834
- a painter who specialized in panting still life (fruit and flowers).
- I like this painting although I think it's a little bit bland and would look better if it was more colourful.
- the painting shows that the room was not light enough because you can see the shadows on the left side.
Frans Snyders
1650
- a painter of animals, hunting scenes, market scenes and still life.
- I like this painting more than the first one because it's bright and catches the eye straight away.
- the painting shows motionless food as well as people and animals.
Contemporary photographers
Andrew Scrivani
- a photographer and food stylist from New York.
- I like this photo because you can see the egg coming down the side of the sandwich which looks pretty good and not boring.
- it's not that colourful but the lighting was good.
Benoit Levac
- a food photographer who likes working with artificial light.
- I find this photo interesting because there's so much to look at, you have to try to focus on one thing at a time.
- it's a very messy photo but I like it.
